An exciting opportunity has arisen for a dynamic and enthusiasticCommunity Consultant Paediatrician to join our friendly and well established Community Paediatrics Team in Brent, North West London.

Based at Chalk Hill Primary Care Centre, the successful candidate will provide specialist community paediatric services to children and young people across Brent. Clinical sessions are delivered from Wembley Centre for Health, Willesden Centre for Health, and Village Special School, offering a varied and rewarding caseload within a multidisciplinary setting.

You will join a supportive team committed to delivering high quality, child centred care and improving outcomes for children, young people, and their families. This is an excellent opportunity to contribute to service development, teaching, and multidisciplinary working while helping us deliver our vision of providing great care closer to home.

Applicants must be on the GMC Specialist Register for Paediatrics with CCT/CCST in Community Paediatrics, or be within six months of obtaining CCT/CCST/CESR at the time of interview.

Main duties of the job

- The Brent Community Paediatric Team forms part of Brent Children's Clinical Services Unit (CSU), working alongside a range of specialist and universal children's services including Community Children's Nursing, Special School Nursing, Looked After Children Services, Speech and Language Therapy, Occupational Therapy, Physiotherapy, School Nursing, and Health Visiting.

- The successful candidate will work as part of a multidisciplinary team, providing specialist community paediatric care for children and young people across Brent. Responsibilities will include delivering general and specialist Community Development Team (CDT) clinics, triaging referrals, participating in multidisciplinary discussions, undertaking Child Protection and Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP) medical assessments, and contributing to clinical decision making and service delivery.

- The post holder will also play an active role in teaching, training, and supervision of resident doctors, students, and multidisciplinary colleagues, whilst contributing to clinical governance, quality improvement, service development, and leadership initiatives across the service.

- There will be opportunities to develop specialist interests and undertake Lead Consultant responsibilities in line with service needs and individual expertise.
