Full Job Description

A Consultant post in Trauma Orthopaedic Surgery is available now at Oxford University Hospitals, primarily based at the John Radcliffe and Horton General Hospitals., We require a Trauma and Orthopaedic Consultant with an interest in general trauma. The appointee will work as part of a team of dedicated orthopaedic trauma surgeons in a Major Trauma Centre serving a catchment population of 3 million and with a substantial tertiary workload, and in a district general hospital which is consistently ranked among the top hospitals for hip fracture surgery nationwide. It is anticipated that this appointment will provide specialist orthopaedic trauma surgical care for our patients suffering with major and multiple injuries, and the full range of surgical care for proximal femoral fragility fractures including total hip arthroplasty. This is integral to this appointment and applicants will need to demonstrate fellowship level training in complex Orthopaedic trauma surgery. We are looking for an applicant who is a team player and has relevant experience in both the management of complex trauma surgery and hip fracture surgery.

The appointee will be expected to participate in the on-call rota and may be required to work on any other site as required by the OUH Trust in the future.
