Full Job Description

The advertised post is for a substantive Consultant diagnostic Genito-urinary radiologist at Barts Health NHS Trust who will be one of several new substantive radiology posts to support the new Community Diagnostic Centre (CDC) for North -East London which is a CDC exemplar supporting Research, Education and Training for the radiographic Team.
We are looking for highly enthusiastic and motivated individuals to join our existing team of 86 radiologists based at The Royal London (RLH) and St Bartholomew's Hospitals (SBH) who support the existing service and the active training programme. The post will be based St Bartholomew's Hospital with commitments also at RLH and Mile End Hospital (MEH), The successful candidate should be able to demonstrate excellent experience in general imaging, oncological imaging, and acute general radiology, including trauma. PET CT experience is desirable but not essential.
The successful candidate will undertake general ultrasound, general and subspecialty oncology CT and MRI. Experience of US or CT guided oncological biopsies is desirable.
Barts Health has many clinical trials supported by the imaging department. Successful candidates will be expected to participate in RECIST/mod iRECIST/CHESON trial reporting for oncology clinical trials.
You will need to agree levels of activity and throughout with the Imaging Clinical Director and General Manager. These activity levels will be aligned to the capacity and demand of the department.
You will be required to adhere to the Trust's policy on Maintaining Medical Excellence and to be committed to maintaining their standard of performance by keeping their knowledge and skills up to date.

The successful applicant should have completed training in diagnostic radiology and be within 6 months of their CCST. They must have a specialist interest in Genito-urinary radiology. This will include independent reporting of MRI prostate and MRI pelvic gynecology studies (including benign and malignant pathology). Experience of taking urology, renal, testes and gynae-oncology MDTs is desirable as the successful candidate with join a rota of these MDTs. They will be required to obtain ILS training and spend some of their reporting time (one day per week) at Mile End hospital depending on need.
