Consultant Neurophysiologist

West Hertfordshire Teaching Hospital wishes to appoint a Consultant Neurophysiologist to be part of the Neurology department consisting of ten Consultant Neurologists and one Consultant Neurophysiologist who all have joint appointments with regional Neuroscience units at the Royal Free Hospital or the National Hospital for Neurology and Neurosurgery. Neurophysiology outpatient clinics are held on two sites (Hemel and Watford)., This post will be outpatients and will have link to the Royal Free Hospital Neurology department for CPD duties will include : West Hertfordshire Teaching Hospital will be the employer for the employer for the appointment and will issue the contract of employment. a) Direct Clinical Care includes: o Nerve conduction studies o Electromyography o Repetitive Nerve stimulation o Sympathetic Skin response o Cutaneous Silent period o Single fibre EMG o Neuro-muscular ultrasound o Evoked Potentials (SSEPs; BAEPs; VEPs) these are not available now due to lack of equipment o Thermal thresholds testing (QST) - this is not available now due to lack of equipment o Central motor conduction studies this is not available now due to lack of equipment o Movement disorder neurophysiology this is not available now due to lack of equipment o EEG All Consultants will be allocated 1 core SPA per week for professional development (CPD), Job Planning, Appraisal, Mandatory Training, attendance at regular team meetings which will have a clinical governance aspect and participating in Audit., Please refer to the attached JD and person specification for further information regarding the role.,

• Previous appointments which provided professional training in neurology /neurophysiology posts approved by the royal college of physicians - SCE in Neurology
  
  GMC Registered with licence to practice or on Specialist Register in Neurophysiology (or within 6 months of date of interview)
• MRCP(UK) or equivalent
• MBBS or equivalent
