One post for a Consultant in Trauma & Orthopaedics is advertised in general and complex trauma with a special interest in foot & ankle to complement the current consultants in the Orthopaedic Departmentwithin Lewisham and Greenwich NHS Trust. The successful candidate would join the existing team of nine consultants at University Hospital Lewisham and ten consultants at Queen Elizabeth Hospital Woolwich. Elective work is to be carried out at the Lewisham site.The appointment (10PAs) will be made in accordance with the 2003 Consultant Terms and Conditions.The post holder will be expected to provide regular trauma sessions and be involved in audit and clinical governance as required. The post holder will participate in a 1:9 on call rota supported by a full junior doctor team.The successful candidate will join a team of hard-working and enthusiastic Trauma and Orthopaedic consultants. We believe this new post will provide time, support and recognition for well-trainedindividuals to
develop their clinical and teaching skills, and to deliver excellent patient care.

Please note the JD is pending RC Approval., General Description of the PostThis post will be for a consultant in Trauma & Orthopaedics, with expertise in complex trauma and foot and anklesurgery. The post will be for 10 PAs. On-call cover will be based at University Hospital Lewisham covering a 1 in 9 on-call rota for weekends and non-resident nights. Daytime elective work can be scheduled at both hospital sites, but is almost always undertaken at the Lewisham hospital site due to the number of operating theatres on this site. Trauma activity can be scheduled at both sites. Proven competency in trauma and lower limb surgery will be required. This post is important to the Trust to ensure the continuation of our excellent and busy Orthopaedic Service and support the 18-weeks target.The successful candidates would join the existing team of 20 substantive consultants at Lewisham and Greenwich NHS Trust., 1. Improving representation at senior levels of staff with disabilities, from black, Asian, and ethnic minorities background, identify as LGBTQ+ and women, through improved recruitment and leadership development
