Medacs Healthcare is working in partnership with The Queen Elizabeth Hospital King's Lynn (QEH) to recruit a Consultant in Stroke Medicine to join a dynamic, forward-thinking multidisciplinary team delivering high-quality hyperacute, acute, and rehabilitation stroke care across West Norfolk and surrounding areas. About the Role As a Consultant in Stroke Medicine, you will play a key role in delivering high-quality stroke and TIA services within a well-established, motivated multidisciplinary team. You will work across the Hyperacute Stroke Unit (HASU), Acute Stroke Unit (ASU), and rehabilitation areas, providing expert inpatient care, participating in the Stroke in-reach service, and leading outpatient Stroke/TIA clinics. Responsibilities Provide consultant-level diagnosis, treatment, and care for stroke and TIA patients

  • Lead and participate in Stroke and TIA outpatient clinics
  • Support hyperacute stroke pathways, including thrombolysis and telemedicine liaison
  • Work closely with MDT colleagues including therapists, psychologists, specialist nurses, and acute physicians
  • Contribute to clinical governance, audit, service improvement, and SSNAP performance
  • About the department and setting Strong MDT including therapists, psychologists, dieticians, and stroke-trained nurses
  • Onsite thrombolysis with regional telemedicine support out of hours
  • Established referral pathways to Cambridge and UCL for thrombectomy
  • Active involvement in research, innovation, and digital transformation
  • Supportive consultant team with opportunities for leadership and service development

    MBBS or equivalent medical degree
  • Full GMC registration with a licence to practise
  • Entry on the GMC Specialist Register (or within 6 months of CCT/CESR)
  • UK Right to Work
  • DBS/PVG check (or willingness to complete)
  • Desirable: Experience in service development, audit, or quality improvement
  • Interest in teaching, research, or leadership roles
  • Experience contributing to SSNAP performance or pathway redesign
