Summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Division of Medicine to work within Rheumatology as a consultant to work alongside our 3 existing consultants, specialist pharmacist and CNS team. It is a full time post based on a 10 PA contract, although less than full-time would be considered.

The Trust is based on two acute sites with Rheumatology outpatient services on each site. The postholder would be encouraged to develop a subspecialty interest as we are keen to develop our services further for our patient population and support would be provided for this.

The successful applicant will form part of our Rheumatology Consultant team, providing outpatient services across the two Trust sites. Successful candidates will be expected to cover work across both sites providing outpatient services but are also supported with work from home as service needs permit.

Applicants must be on the General Medical Council Specialist Register. In accordance with the regulations, all other categories of doctors must be on the GMC Specialist Register to be considered for a consultant appointment by the Advisory Appointments Committee. Applicants must continue to hold a License to Practice.

CHFT is an integrated Trust of over 6,500 colleagues providing hospital and community services to patients and communities across Calderdale and Kirklees. We are rated as 'Good' by the Care Quality Commission, are a top performing Trust for Elective Recovery, Emergency and Cancer Care and widely acknowledged as a national digital leader in caring for people across our local and regional systems.

Our people are at the core of everything we do, hence our commitment to One Culture of Care. Our focus is to care for and support each other in order to provide outstanding compassionate care to our patients. That is why we are looking for an inclusive, collaborative, creative, innovative, and compassionate leader to join us in this role.

The Trust wishes to ensure that Consultants have time in their job plan to undertake Supporting Professional Activities which underpin and maintain high quality patient care. The Trust Board and Local Negotiating Committee have agreed that a core allocation of 1.5 SPAs should be allocated to undertake CPD, appraisal, clinical supervision, audit and clinical governance, mandatory training, and the general management of the service. Objectives should be agreed at the Job Plan review meeting with regard to this SPA.
