Full Job Description
The role covers all aspects of Pain Management, including acute and chronic pain. The post will be split across Pain Management and Anaesthetics, although applications will be considered for those only interested in Pain Management. Individuals wishing to be a part of the Anaesthetic on call rota will need to obtain ATLS or equivalent prior to starting on the on-call rota.
We are looking for a dynamic and motivated individual to join the Manchester and Salford Pain Centre (MSPC), part of Salford Care Organisation, as a full-time Consultant in Pain Management and Anaesthetics.
The successful applicant will join an existing team of anaesthetists and intensivists providing anaesthetic and critical care services at Salford Royal Hospital as well as six Consultant colleagues in the Pain Centre, which provides comprehensive pain management services to Salford, Greater Manchester and the North West.
The Pain Centre was one of the first to be established in the UK, and is now located in a purpose built pain centre, that opened in 2009. The fully integrated and interdisciplinary team includes Medics, Psychologists, Physiotherapists, Nurses and Admin staff.
The MSPC has provided pain management in Salford for 60 years, and is housed in a stand-alone centre complete with its own clinical, library and seminar room within Salford Royal Hospital. The Centre is focused on multi-disciplinary working to ensure the best outcomes for our patients., The Northern Care Alliance NHS Foundation Trust (NCA) provides hospital and integrated health and social care services to over one million people living across Greater Manchester.
