Consultant in Paediatric Emergency Medicine

Northumbria Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust is seeking to appoint a Consultant in Emergency Paediatrics to be based at the Northumbria Specialist Emergency Hospital in Cramlington on a full time or part-time basis.

The successful candidate will have expertise in General and Emergency Paediatrics and will have a role in the ongoing development of the Children's Unit at the Northumbria Hospital.

You will work alongside other consultant paediatricians and participate in the training of junior doctors and paediatric advanced clinical practitioners in the department. When on duty your main role will be to provide and co-ordinate patient care in the Children's Emergency Department. There are opportunities to develop a regular out-patient clinic as well as teaching, training and service improvement.

The post is for 10 Programmed Activities (PAs) per week which includes regular on-site working in the evenings and at weekends. There is no regular overnight on call commitment., The post will be flexibly time-tabled to meet the demands of the service and the timing of sessions may change as the service develops. Full and part-time applications are welcomed and the content of the job will be agreed with individual candidates.
