Full Job Description
Applicants are invited for Consultant in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery with a Specialist interest in TMJ (temporomandibular joint disorders) with Addenbrooke's Hospital, this will be a joint post based at Cambridge University Hospitals (CUH) with sessions at North West Anglia Foundation Trust (NWAFT) amonting to 50% at eacl location except for the on-call duties based in Cambridge. The role will also include general Maxillofacial Surgery clinics and surgery, treating trauma patients and on-call duties., The post holder will complement the existing Maxillofacial consultant team of 6 Oral and Maxillofacial surgeons and a cleft surgeon at Addenbrooke's Hospital. They will be expected to participate in the on call rota alongside Peterborough Maxillofacial Surgery department on a 1:8 basis. Additional team members include 4 speciality registrars (including one out of program research registrar who continues to participate in the on call activity), 6 DCT's, 6 clinical fellows (who provide out of hours cover), 5 speciality surgeons and 1 FY2.
The applicant must have demonstrable skills in listening, reading, writing and speaking in English that enable effective communication about medical topics with patients and colleagues, as set out in the GMC's Good Medical Practice (2013). Non-UK applicants must possess the IELTS/OET exam before obtaining a GMC licence to practice.
