Full Job Description
All consultants in the department have a continuing and individual responsibility for the care of patient (adults and children) in their charge and a general responsibility to provide, in conjunction with their colleagues, an effective Oral Maxillofacial Surgery Service to meet the needs of the local population within the resources available. Key tasks:
- Maintenance of the highest clinical standards in OMFS
- Provision of out-patient services in general and head and neck services
- To work with colleagues, both medical and nursing to improve and advance the OMFS service
- To share with colleagues the responsibility for the management of the department.
- Supervision and where appropriate training of trainees, junior medical staff, nursing staff, primary care colleagues and medical students.
- Actively participate in both departmental and Trust matters concerning clinical governance and audit
- Having responsibility for ensuring active participation in continuing professional development (CPD).
