Consultant in Ophthalmology, with special interest in Glaucoma

We are looking to recruit an enthusiastic Consultant colleague to the department of Ophthalmology which sits within the Digestive diseases and Surgery Clinical Service Unit (CSU). The post holder will be expected to have a broad experience of the specialty, particularly Glaucoma., This post covers all aspects of a Consultant's professional practice including clinical work, teaching, research, service development, education and managerial responsibilities. The successful candidate should have the ability to offer expert clinical opinion and management on a wide range of problems, both emergency and elective, within the subspecialty, at a consultant level. A commitment to the Trust's clinical governance and risk strategy is mandatory. The successful applicant is expected to:Provide expert medical and surgical management of patients with glaucoma conditions. The successful candidate will have continuing responsibility for patients under their care and be able to autonomously manage patients presenting within the service.
