Full Job Description
The Queen Elizabeth the Queen Mother Hospital is a busy district general hospital close to the Kent coast and surrounded by countryside. We have 3000 deliveries per year. The labour ward has 8 delivery rooms and a dedicated obstetric emergency theatre which is present on the labour ward. The Trust hosts medical students on attachment from GKT, UCL and Imperial Medical Schools and became a University Hospital linked to GKT in 2009. From September 2020, we started to host an intake of medical students from the new Kent and Medway medical school which is based in East Kent., The job plan will contain 10 Programmed Activities per week consisting of 8 direct clinical care PA's and 2 supporting professional activity PA's. The precise length of Programmed Activities may vary from week to week around the average assessment set out in the Job Plan. There will be a Friday on call with out of hours frequency will occur every fourth week (Category A at 8%) with weekend frequency being 1:7 (Category A at 5%) as well as regular antenatal clinics, gynae clinics, operating lists and triage cover. These will either be stand alone or alongside another consultant. - Proven track record in high risk obstetrics and high risk caesarean sections
- Minimum of English Level 2 (GCSE grade C or equivalent), ILETS, or graduate of a UK Medical School, Full GMC Registration
- CCT or equivalent in obstetrics and gynaecology
- ATSM advanced labour ward practice
- Further ATSM in either obstetrics or gynaecology
- MRCOG part 2/3, Experience of Audit
- Understanding of clinical incident reporting & risk management
- Evidence of participation in annual appraisal
