Full Job Description
Responsible, with colleagues, for providing services in clinical microbiology and infection prevention and control across the NCA, including some duties based at The Royal Oldham Hospital., The main purpose of the job is to provide a clinical infection service to Salford.
The post holder will complement and develop existing services through the provision of specialist knowledge and expertise in Clinical Microbiology.
An initial and then annual review of duties will take place with the Clinical Director of Infection Sciences as part of the job planning process. During the initial job planning meeting, a detailed breakdown of direct clinical care and supporting activities will be agreed. A versatile and enthusiastic medical microbiologist, you will be either fully qualified and registered with the GMC or within 6 months of obtaining a CCT in medical microbiology (or medical microbiology and infectious diseases).
You will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to demonstrate the ability to influence others in senior clinical and management roles, be responsible for implementation of innovation and service development and have experience of writing protocols and guidelines.
An excellent track record for implementing change, coupled with a desire to improve and succeed are essential requirements. In return, you will benefit from working in a high performing organisation where you will be able to enhance your skills.
