Full Job Description
This is an excellent opportunity for a new or established consultants to join a thriving Community Paediatric department providing a wide range of community paediatric services Applications are invited for the inner London post to join a dynamic and supportive team of community paediatricians for a full time , part time or job share permanent post. The post holders will carry out community paediatric general work and a special interest will be welcomed and supported. You must be fully registered with the GMC and hold License to Practice and be on the Specialist Register, or within six months of attaining your CCT or equivalent at interview stage.Main duties of the job The post holders will work in all aspects of community paediatrics, suited to their experience and competencies and the priorities of service provision. The post holder will undertake assessment and management of children with neurodevelopmental concerns and safeguarding. They will participate in the safeguarding and child sexual abuse rota. There are opportunities to develop additional interests including Named and Designated statutory roles. Post holders will work across Lambeth and Southwark as part of the Evelina Community Paediatric team., Please see the appended job description for further details of the job description and main responsibilities for the role.
- Eligible for full UK GMC/GDC registration and a Licence to Practise.
- MRCPCH by examination or equivalent
- On GDC/GMC Specialist Register or within six months of attaining CCT in Community Paediatrics or Paediatric Neurodisability Clinical Experience,
- Evidence of achievement of the competencies to obtain a CCT in Community Child Health and/or Neurodisability, or CESR or equivalent.
- Experience in autism and related disorders with training in using standardised tools in autism assessment.
- Extensive clinical experience in the field of safeguarding., Training and experience in medical evaluation of possible child sexual abuse or willingness to undergo necessary further training., Evidence of communication skills, including communicating difficult news.
- Demonstrate ability to manage time effectively and prioritise workload and deal with conflicting demand, Evidence of participation in clinical audit/QI project, understanding the role of these in improving the medical practice.
- Experience and knowledge of critical appraisal of evidence, so as to improve clinical outcomes.
- Evidence of teaching experience to all grades of professional multidisciplinary staff Leadership skills,
- Understanding and experience of working in NHS systems, including knowledge of medical management, clinical governance and, service planning
- Evidence of being able to work effectively across organisational boundaries.
