Consultant in Care of the Elderly - Orthogeriatrics

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join UHBW as a Consultant in Care of the Elderly. We are committed to improving the way that Weston works - do you want to be a part of the change?This position will be based at Weston General Hospital which accommodates 279 inpatient beds, including a Medical Assessment Unit and seperate Older Persons Assessment Unit and an Emergency Department with an award winning embedded Geriatric Emergency Medical Service (GEMS).We are seeking an enthusiastic Physician to continue the developments within Care of the Elderly to support the Trust in improving how it handles patients arriving for potential admission with the aim of delivering timely safe care as well as increasing the numbers of early discharges. This post holder will be part of the team that supports frailty admissions pathways and will also have an instrumental role in shaping the future of Orthogeriatric hospital services for patients across Weston-super-Mare and Worle.What's in it for

The key objectives are to reduce number of unnecessary admissions, reduce patient length stay and work with system partners to ensure safe discharge to appropriate places of residence.
