The Department of Audio vestibular Medicine is delighted to invite applications for 2 x 8PA Consultants posts in Audiovestibular Medicine/Neuro-otology at University College London Hospital.The posts would suit an Audiovestibular Physician with a special interest in Adult Neuro-otology and complex auditory problems (including APD) who would like to work in a tertiary centre providing multiple sub-specialty clinics and develop clinical research relating to disorders seen in the specialty. The successful candidate will be part of a team of 13 Consultants and up to 5 Specialist Trainees, supporting the work of this multidisciplinary department.
An interest in developing outreach specialty clinics and in transitional care between paediatric and adult audiovestibular medicine will be desired., The post-holder will be accountable to the Divisional Clinical Director and report to the Clinical Lead. Direct Clinical Care ActivitiesThis role requires the consultant to undertake non-emergency work during premium time (defined by the Terms and Conditions - Consultants (England) 2003) as set out in the job plan for this appointment, which will vary from year to year as determined by the needs of the service. Acceptance of the offer of employment will be interpreted as mutual agreement of this requirement between the consultant, his or her clinical manager and the Trust. The contract of employment for this position will reflect this requirement.The Consultant will be supported by the divisional management team and the administrative support team in carrying out his/ her responsibilitieso Provide a courteous and efficient service to the AVM cohort of patientso Deliver the clinical protocols for all AVM patients to ensure that processes and procedures in place conform to local and
national standardso Undertake continued professional development and be aware of any new clinical developments in AVM, and to regularly update his/her skills and clinical practice.o Undertake teaching and training in AVM for all levels of staff which will include clinicians, trainees as well as support staffo Be a member of the Department of AVM and work in an integrated way with other members of the department
