Consultant Gastroenterology

Please note that, subject to approval, financial incentives may be available, including reimbursement of visa and flight expenses up to £5,000, together with the Trust's standard relocation package of up to £8,000. This provides a potential total support package of up to £13,000.Demand for Gastroenterology outpatient and Endoscopy services continues to grow across East and North Hertfordshire NHS Teaching Trust. We are seeking an enthusiastic and forward-thinking Consultant Gastroenterologist to join our established team and help deliver high-quality care across the Trust.This substantive post is based at Lister Hospital, Stevenage, comprising 10 Programmed Activities (PAs) and participation in the 1 in 12 GI bleeding and emergency endoscopy on-call rota. The successful applicant will join a team of 12 Gastroenterologists and 4 Hepatologists, providing comprehensive Gastroenterology services across Lister Hospital, New QEII Hospital, and Hertford County Hospital., The post holder will work closely with multidisciplinary colleagues and community partners to provide outstanding patient care and contribute to the ongoing development of Gastroenterology services across the Trust.We are proud of both our reputation for delivering high standards of care and our friendly, supportive working environment.It is expected that the applicant will complement an existing department offering gastroenterology and liver services, please see job plan. Across the Trust the care of GI and liver inpatients is centralised at the Lister site with consultants involved in a 1 in 12 GI bleeding rota which incorporates a 24/7 bleed service and some routine endoscopy at weekends whilst on-call. The post does not include a commitment to the general medical on call rota.
