South West Yorkshire Partnership Foundation Trust are recruiting for a Consultant Psychiatrist to join the medical team based at Cheswold Park Hospital. This role plays a vital part in ensuring our patients receive the care that they need and will be an integral role within the female medium secure pathway. We are seeking a 10PA substantive consultant to join the medium secure womens inpatient service (Skipton Ward) due to vacancy following takeover of Cheswold Park Hospital since October 2024 and staff moving outside the trust. The job entails cover of a 12 bedded female medium secure ward with both mental illness and personality disorder service lines. The starting salary for this post is aligned with point 04 of the consultant pay scale ((£123,672 -£150,569), in line with Trust policy for newly appointed consultants.   • Holds and will use valid UK driving licence.

    MB BS or equivalent medical qualification., Qualification or higher degree in medical education, clinical research or management.
  • MRCPsych.
  • Additional clinical qualifications., Fully registered with the GMC with a licence to practise at the time of appointment.
  • Included on the GMC Specialist Register for Forensic Psychiatry, or within six months of gaining.
  • OR
  • Included on the GMC Specialist Register for General Psychiatry with special interest in Forensic Psychiatry, or within six months of gaining.
  • Approved clinician status OR able to achieve within three months of appointment. (If not achieved at the time of appointment low secure colleague support will be provided as interim measure.)
