Full Job Description
We are looking to recruit a highly motivated, innovative and inspiring HCPC Registered Consultant Clinical or Counselling Psychologist to welcome into our Senior Leadership and Management Teams in Bedfordshire & Luton. With specific responsibility for the professional and clinical leadership of psychological professions within Bedfordshire Adult Community Mental Health Teams (not including Luton), you would work in a job share with a very experienced Consultant Clinical Psychologist who has responsibility for psychological professions within Countywide Adult Inpatient and Early Intervention Services.
Together with other senior psychological professions staff, the post holder will be responsible and accountable for the development and direct delivery of specialised programmes of innovative and evidence-based psychological interventions in the Bedfordshire directorate.
There are opportunities for excellent CPD that supports the Trust Strategy. Much of the work is in person and you will be expected to travel across the County and on occasion to London., Liaising with operational line managers, the postholder will be responsible for robust governance systems to assure expected standards of performance and clinical safety and effectiveness of psychological service provision. The post holder will not have line management responsibility but will hold devolved responsibility to manage and co-ordinate the workload of qualified psychologists, assistants, trainee psychologists and other psychological practitioners within their area. As such, they may be required to support line managers with any disciplinary, capability or sickness processes as necessary. They will be skilled in service development, audit and research, and be able to engage their staff group at all levels to nurture a culture of continuous quality improvement. A key priority for the the role will be the creative transformation of pathways to build capacity and increase access to psychological therapies and interventions.
The postholder will contribute senior psychology representation at the Bedfordshire Directorate Management Team and regional representation at the Trust Psychological Professions Board. As a senior clinician in the directorate, they may also be required to undertake serious incident, disciplinary and other investigations.
