Full Job Description

The consultant's job plan will be based on a 10 PA contract. We would welcome enquiries and applications from fully trained Consultant Neurophysiologists in possession of MRCP or equivalent, or those within 6 months of obtaining CCT. This is a well-established Neurophysiology service originating in 1955. The post holder will complement the Neurological service of the Medicine DirectorateMain duties of the job Job Purpose To provide a Clinical Neurophysiology Service. Duties & Responsibilities The number of sessions to be devoted to the following activities will be dependent upon the department's need. ·Peripheral nerve conduction and EMG out-patient clinics ·Supervision of clinical physiology led NCS clinics ·Inpatient / bedside NCS and EMG ·EEG reporting ·EP reporting ·Ambulatory EEG reporting ·Training junior staff ·Be prepared to participate in management duties within the department and the Trust ·The successful candidate will agree a job plan with the clinical director prior to commencement of duties. ·This will consist of: 4 PAs peripheral NCS / EMG, 4 PAs EEG reporting, 2 SPAs, Northampton General Hospital NHS Trust is on an exciting journey with all of our divisions committed to doing things better, with more efficiency as we update, modernise, and advance. We have also entered a Group Model with neighbouring Kettering General Hospital NHS Foundation Trust and become University Hospitals of Northamptonshire (UHN).   • 1 full time consultant (vacant post)
  • 1 part time consultant - 2 PAs (dual accredited with Neurology)
  • 1 service manager (clinical physiologist)
  • 3 additional full time clinical physiologists
  • 2 part time ATOs
  • Designated clerical team
