Full Job Description

The Medical Psychology service provides psychological assessment, support and treatment to medical patients and is based across hospitals and community sites serving the University Hospital Tees group. We are pleased to be recruiting for a highly experienced Consultant Clinical/Counselling/ Health Psychologist to contribute to the specialist clinical services,supervisionand leadership within two CSUs; TORPEDO CSU 3 and Critical Care CSU 4 as well as being a senior leader within the psychology services with particular leadership support to the team based at North Tees and Hartlepool. You will be welcomed into a leadership team that values kindness, integrity and collaboration and will provide particular support to the Director of Medical Psychology as part of the Group structure with visibility and leadership at North Tees and Hartlepool. The role will work across all Group sites, with particular clinical focus at James Cook and North Tees and leadership support at Hartlepool, North
Tees and James Cook. The role will require regular travel between sites., We are looking for a Consultant Clinical Psychologist to work alongside the Director of Medical Psychology and lead a team of Clinical Psychologists and other staff to provide specialist clinical services, supervision and leadership across two CSUs and within the North Tees and Hartlepool team.

As a department we provide input across the Group into a range of specialities with nearly all CSUs including but not limited to; neuropsychology, oncology, haematology, palliative care, rheumatology, diabetes, pain, CFS, infectious diseases, renal, burns and plastics. The post holder will have responsibilities for providing leadership within the specific area of the Trauma and Critical Care within CSUs 3 and 4 psychology service.

The post holder will take a lead on specific audit and service evaluation projects and will be involved in service development projects with the aim of expanding the service in line with national guidelines and standards. The post will also involve line management and clinical supervision of other staff.

The role will also provide senior leadership support and oversight to the North Tees and Hartlepool team supporting the Director of Medical Psychology

Applicants will need to have had experience of working in a clinical health setting.
