Consultant - Capacity Planning and Modelling

You will work on high-impact managed service and Operate programmes where workforce, capacity, cost and transition planning are critical to successful delivery.

This is a great role for someone who enjoys making complex operations easier to understand and run. You will help clients answer practical delivery questions: how many people are needed, where capacity is stretched, what delivery will cost, how work should transition, and what reporting is needed to stay in control. You will translate demand, service levels, productivity, shrinkage, costs, processes and transition requirements into clear models, plans and Management Information. The successful candidate will be highly confident in advanced Excel and able to use macros, VBA and automation techniques to improve model accuracy, speed and repeatability. You will be comfortable working with imperfect data, building structured assumptions, automating repeatable analysis and explaining what the numbers mean for delivery. You will have experience in managed services, Operate delivery or complex operational transformation across a range of regulated industries such as Financial Services, Government & Public Services. You will be strongest where the role matters most: workforce modelling, capacity planning, headcount planning, cost modelling, process mapping, people transition planning and advanced Excel capabilities. Essentials:

• Managed Services, Operate delivery or complex operational transformation experience.
• Strong workforce modelling, capacity planning and headcount planning capability.
• Advanced Excel skills, including complex formulas, structured datasets, scenario modelling, sensitivity analysis and model documentation.
• Practical experience using macros, VBA or Excel automation to improve modelling speed, control and repeatability.
• Cost modelling experience to support mobilisation, pricing, business cases or delivery performance management.
• Experience designing and producing Management Information reporting that translates operational data into clear delivery insight, risks, trends and actions.
• Ability to understand and document how work gets done today, and identify practical improvements to make processes clearer, simpler and more efficient.
• People transition and operational readiness planning, including team sizing, mobilisation and implementation planning.
Desirables:
• Cross-sector experience across Financial Services, Government & Public Services or other regulated environments.
• Experience supporting service delivery or operational performance reporting.
• Experience enhancing Management Information packs, dashboards or reporting rhythms for senior stakeholders, governance forums or client delivery reviews.
• Understanding of operational risk, service management or performance management in a managed service environment.
• Exposure to Power Query, Power Pivot, Power BI or similar tools for data transformation, reporting or insight.
