Full Job Description

As a Consultant (Career Level 2) in Management Consultancy, you will play an important part in delivering high-quality work for clients while building your analytical and domain knowledge. This is an early-stage role designed to support learning and development, with structured guidance and a clear training pathway. Working closely with experienced colleagues, you will support project delivery and develop a practical understanding of how to solve business challenges. You will assist with research, data analysis and the application of established methodologies, tools and frameworks. Key aspects of the role include:

  • Supporting the delivery of consultancy work to a high standard and within agreed timelines
  • Assisting with research and analysis to support client projects
  • Applying ethical consultancy practices in line with recognised frameworks
  • Building knowledge within a chosen sector, capability or discipline
  • Taking ownership of allocated tasks and completing them reliably
  • Supporting change initiatives and contributing to team momentum
  • Developing professional relationships with colleagues, clients and stakeholders
  • You will work under guidance from project managers, senior consultants and your line manager, gaining experience through practical involvement in projects.

You are at the early stages of your consultancy career and are keen to develop both your technical and professional skills. You may be working towards a degree or equivalent qualification, or have relevant experience that demonstrates your capability. You have a strong interest in consultancy and are motivated to learn how businesses operate and solve complex challenges. You understand the value of teamwork, clear communication and attention to detail, and you are comfortable working under supervision while developing your confidence. To succeed in this role, you will bring an awareness of consultancy and technical skills, along with a commitment to professional development, including working towards membership of an appropriate professional body. You will also be able to obtain the required security clearance. An initial understanding of project risk, data analysis and collaborative working will support your development, alongside a willingness to build networks and maintain strong working relationships.
