Full Job Description
The post holder will provide support to configure the EPR systems in the EPR programme which will include a range of clinical and non-clinical functions. The post holder will develop expertise in the system and provide support and advice to users within the organisation. This will include close working relationships with the digital team, and the EPR programme. The post holder will be required to provide expertise on the EPR system as required. The post holder will contribute to evaluation, recommendation and guidance in the requirements of the EPR with consideration taken for operational and clinical processes within the organisation. The post holder will work to meet project timescales and expectations. The post holder will also be required to further develop their knowledge to become a technical specialist in the EPR system and the integration links with downstream systems., Working with the EPR programme the configuration analyst will be responsible for the set up and configuration of the EPR system that the team has responsibility for. Work closely with all stakeholders, provide analysis and information, to determine how the clinical systems can be developed, configured and enhanced to meet the requirements for clinical and administrative workflows The role will create documentation to support the EPR system and ensure that documentation on the configuration, set up and use of the systems are kept up to date. The role will provide expert advice to the organisation in order to ensure that supported digital systems meet National and Local standards and will work with system providers to fill any shortcomings. To be responsible for ensuring that processes are followed for implementing system changes (which may include the logging and requesting of changes) by liaising with internal users and external suppliers. To analyse, investigate and recommend/resolve complex issues/problems. This may include the identification of the source of the error and provide corrective actions (workarounds) while a more permanent fix is identified. To provide information, analytical or narrative to appropriate groups within the team and wider Trust to demonstrate appropriate system use and monitoring of targets (either directly or by ensuring appropriate data is available). Where necessary be able to understand complex configuration build concept, self-taught from limited supplier information and apply this to resolve problems in the build Understand and advise on User Template permissions relating to configuration when needed Analyse and advise on proposed Reference data/models relating to EPR configuration as needed Work with staff supporting training to ensure awareness of configuration build development and changes Required to interpret and communicate complex issues to non-IT staff. Involved in the preparation of information for board meetings, including inputting to highlight reports, issues, risks and escalations. Ensure all incidents are logged in the incident management system and calls are updated accurately and in a timely manner, accounting for breaches, should they occur in an ITIL (IT Infrastructure Library) structured and change controlled environment. To achieve their objectives the post holder will work independently and will have the freedom to act but will keep their line manager fully informed. The post holder will organise their own work. Expectation to be responsive to variable workloads and interruptions from other staff. Participate in the on-call rota, to provide out of hours support for the digital systems team. Post holders will initiate, plan and modify work packages providing advice/guidance on system usage and configuration. This will include working with business analysts and EPR system team to configure software to support the organisation. This will involve the interpretation of complex information, analysis and specialist knowledge. Post holders will undertake the testing and quality assurance for configuration in the EPR system, or changes, that need to be presented to Change Advisory Board. They will ensure that the change is fit for purpose before being released to end users. They will also review the documentation that is provided to enable the support of systems. Work collaboratively with other NHS organisations in the region, with consideration for design and build of a single solution. To be involved in internal and external user groups and other meetings leading workshops to facilitate future system developments. To assist in the integration and implementation of Information Standard Notices (formerly referred to as Data Set Change Notices) in a timely and well communicated approach in partnership with the trust, including liaising with other teams within digital services and system users. Where there are shared systems, this may involve other local or national organisations. To work closely with other disciplines within the Trust including Programme Team, Business Change Team, Training Team, Business Intelligence and Technical services especially during the planning, specifying, reviewing, updating, and upgrading of systems. To play an active part and lead in Post Implementation Reviews of supported software and liaise with other disciplines within the department where corrective action is identified. To assist in the provision of effective System Support and Development across digital whilst supporting their performance measurement agendas, to help ensure that the business and governance needs of the Trust, statutory and commissioner requirements etc, are met to agreed deadlines To assist trust Information Teams in ensuring all statutory, local and commissioning reporting and data set submission requirements are met by ensuring appropriate data capture within the system or application Provide reports, as required, regarding the use of supported systems and data quality issues. The post holder will be required to participate in the development and implementation of Key Performance Indicators and Critical Success Factors within the Trust around the end usage of system. To monitor, prioritise and act upon calls received from 1st /2nd Line Support. This will include ownership of the call and completing actions to seek resolution. By working with the Trust, the post holder will implement policies and propose changes which may result in system developments being implemented including the preparation of documentation. These strategies/policies may be local and national. To regularly liaise with staff within the Trust on issues that affect the supported systems To provide full support for audits on their areas and act on recommendations as appropriate. Ensure that they have a Personal Development Plan (which is reviewed six monthly) and ensure that their skills and knowledge bases are kept up to date to allow their services and the overall service provided by the Support Team is of a satisfactory standard. Ensure that junior staff within the digital system team are trained in techniques, skills and approaches required to perform their duties. The post holder will feedback and discuss with the IT Training Team continuous developments and processes with systems and work together to review and identify improvements in how IT training is delivered to staff.
We are seeking a dedicated systems support person to join the EPR programme delivery team. The role will require an enthusiastic and analytical person. They will be working on the configuration of the EPR system across mutliple modules supporting the delivery timeline. A high level of attention to detail is required due to the complexity of configuration and dependencies within the system.,
- Degree level or equivalent knowledge gained through experience Desirable criteria
- Prince2 Foundation, Experience supporting Trust wide systems (including clinical systems)
- Experience of communicating issues to non-technical staff
- Experience of working as part of a team involved in Patient Administration Systems (PAS) Desirable criteria
- Experience of working within a project using PRINCE2
- Experience of working with system suppliers
- Experience of defining user requirements and interpreting them to system suppliers
- Use of Microsoft Project and Visio, Ability to make judgements based on the analysis and investigation of issues
- Excellent organisations skills and ability to react to changing requirements
- Knowledge of working practices/areas where clinical systems are used
- Ability to work unsupervised and able to manage own time and workload
- Experience of working with external organisations over service issues
