Job Overview
We are seeking compassionate and dedicated Complex Care Support Workers to provide high-quality care and support to an 81-year-old gentleman in his own home in Thatcham. The individual is living with vascular dementia and reduced mobility and requires person-centred support to maintain comfort, independence, dignity, and wellbeing within his home environment.
This is a Monday to Sunday rota-based position, with shifts provided in advance. You will be paid weekly. This role offers an excellent opportunity to develop your skills in complex care while making a meaningful difference to someone's life.
Responsibilities
- Deliver personalised care in line with the individual's care plan
- Support with all aspects of personal care including bathing, dressing, and mobility
- Assist with medication administration in accordance with training and care plans
- Support with nutrition, hydration, and meal preparation
- Monitor and report changes in physical or emotional wellbeing
- Provide companionship and emotional reassurance
- Support mobility and moving and handling requirements
- Assist with household tasks to maintain a clean and safe environment
- Support attendance at appointments when required
- Maintain accurate daily records and documentation
Experience & Requirements
- At least 6 months UK care experience required
- Experience supporting individuals with dementia is highly desirable
- Experience within complex care is advantageous
- Strong understanding of dignity, privacy, and person-centred care
- Excellent communication and observational skills
- Ability to remain calm and compassionate under pressure
- Full UK driving licence preferred but not essential
