Full Job Description
We are recruiting a small team to operate a permanent duty function for Operational Commissioning services in Charnwood and Melton. This advert is for two Community Support Workers to operate the service, please see separate adverts for the Team Manager and Social Workers that will make up the team. The successful candidates will be motivated and experienced in Adult Social Care; able to make timely, legal, defensible assessments and decisions which best support the most vulnerable adults in Leicestershire. The duty team will cover Cognitive and Physical Disability; Mental Health and Learning Disability and Autism service areas. Duty team staff will not hold a caseload but will support the immediate needs of new cases. You will be expected to work actively in the local community and manage risk effectively as part of the duty team and supported by the established managers and teams in the area. Job Purpose
- Delivering excellent outcomes for people with Care Act eligibility, using the department's operating model and ways of working to deliver excellence in social care.
Hold a Level 2 in Maths and English and a relevant health/social care qualification, a full Level 2 or 3 qualification in adult social care, for example NCFE CACHE Level 2 Diploma in Care, or equivalent. - Have relevant experience of working with adults in a social care setting and of working with other agencies within a fieldwork environment.
- Understand the need to undertake need and risk assessments and the issues/needs that adults and their families/carers may have.
- Have a good understanding of social care organisations and their roles and responsibilities as part of the wider community and voluntary sector.
- Be able to recognise the limits of own accountability and responsibility, and to seek appropriate support and advice when required.
- Be able to work proactively individually but also as a team member.
- Have good prioritisation and time management skills and have a valid UK driving licence or access to a vehicle In addition, we also expect you to share our commitment to our values and to delivering accessible and inclusive services which meet the needs of all of our residents. You will be asked to demonstrate your understanding of these commitments as part of the selection process. This post is covered by Part 7 of the Immigration Act (2016) and therefore the ability to speak fluent English is an essential requirement for this role.
