Community Support Worker

As a member of the Day Opportunities for adults with learning disabilities, within AdultSocial care, you will support the achievement key social care priorities, making a realdifference to the lives of people in Shropshire. This post holder will be responsible insupporting individuals and group activities which can be community focussed andinclude digital services that are person centred, and strengths based - enabling careand support that promotes independence and inclusion.In addition, you will work with others to create an offer that young people looking fortheir next opportunity will want to be part of and choose to join us. You will ensure thatwe support people with the aspiration of finding and using their individual gifts and skillsto achieve their goals and maintain independence and inclusion at every opportunity.You will support the Locality Lead in implementing daily programme for individuals andgroups and be proactive in supporting the demands of Day Opportunities. This includesproviding support of a practical and personal nature to the client, where appropriate.Day Services currently operate Monday-Friday 8.30-4.30. Future working may includesome evening and weekend working for clubs and events.

The successful applicant will need to evidence that they have:

• Experience of working in care and supporting adults
• Be committed to provide person centred care.
• Be committed to promoting the our values
• Should candidates not have obtained the above qualifications they will be
expected to complete a Care Certificate through Skills for Care
• Some computer skills desirable
