Suffolk County Council (SCC) delivers the 0 - 19 Healthy Child Service for the whole of Suffolk, which includes School Nursing, Health and Children's Centres, Family Nurse Partnership Services, and our Health Business Centre.
This is an extremely exciting time to join School Nursing in Suffolk as we have invested heavily in our school nursing provision, increasing our staffing capacity to deliver the Healthy Child Programme. This additional resource will enable early identification of the needs of children and young people aged 5 to 19 (up to 25 for SEND), within and outside of a school setting.
You will work with children and young people, individually and in groups, to promote healthy lifestyles and resilience and improve public health outcomes.

Your role and responsibilities
You will:
- support the delivery of the Healthy Child Programme 5-19 yrs (HCP) by directly supporting the needs of children, young people, and their families
- through multiagency working, effectively safeguard children and young people, which will include participation in safeguarding meetings and contributing to assessment processes
- where required, be the key contact with the family and liaise with other professionals to provide a joined-up response
- have a key role in delivering the Healthy Child Programme
- support health needs of school age children and their families through a Public Health approach
- promote health and wellbeing to ensure each child and young person is supported to reach their potential
- delivering meaningful support to children and young people to achieve positive outcomes.

You will need
- current Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) Registered Nurse.
- evidence of continuing professional development.
- the ability to relate to people of all ages and backgrounds
- excellent interpersonal, communication and listening skills
- to demonstrate the We ASPIRE values.

Our teams are based throughout Suffolk and have a key role in delivering the Healthy Child Programme and supporting the health needs of school-age children and their families through a public health approach.
