Full Job Description
Shropshire Council is looking to appoint a Community Safety Co-ordinator to support thedelivery of community safety priorities across the county and contribute to improving outcomesfor local communities.You will work as part of the Shropshire Safeguarding Community Partnership (SSCP) Team ,supporting the co-ordination of partnership activity across community safety, safeguarding andrelated agendas. The role will involve close working with council services, police, health partners,voluntary and community organisations, and local communities.The roleThe post holder will support the effective operation of the Community Safety Partnership,including delivery groups and task and finish activity. This includes contributing to thedevelopment and delivery of community safety strategies and action plans, supporting the ASBCase Review process, and assisting with multi-agency problem solving and tasking.You will support performance and assurance activity through the collection, analysis andreporting of community safety data, and contribute to statutory and partnership documents suchas the Annual Strategic Assessment and Partnership Plan. The role also includes engagement andconsultation activity, coordination of events and meetings, and maintaining accurate records andcase tracking systems.
- A good understanding of crime, crime reduction and the legislation and frameworks that underpin community safety
- At least two years' experience coordinating work within a community safety or partnership setting, ideally within local government
- Experience of working effectively with multi-agency partners in a political environment
- Strong organisational skills, with experience of managing multiple projects, events and priorities
- The ability to analyse data and intelligence, prepare reports and support evidence-led decision-making
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills, including the ability to manage sensitive and confidential informationYou will be confident working independently, adaptable to changing priorities, and committed tocollaboration, continuous improvement and safeguarding.Working for Shropshire Council
