Full Job Description

Millfield School is seeking a Community Safeguarding Steward to support the Pastoral Team in promoting a safe, secure and positive environment within student changing room areas. Through regular engagement and visible patrols, you will help prevent incidents, support student wellbeing and assist with safeguarding, safety and security matters as they arise. What you will be doing:

  • Providing a visible and supportive presence in student changing room areas
  • Assisting students with lockers and use of facilities
  • Promoting positive behaviour and helping maintain a safe environment
  • Reporting safeguarding, welfare and security concerns through the appropriate procedures
  • Supporting the wider Community and Safeguarding team as required
  • About You We are looking for someone who:
  • Is approachable, reliable and professional
  • Communicates confidently with young people and colleagues
  • Has strong observational skills and good judgement
  • Understands the importance of safeguarding and student welfare
  • Can work independently and take a proactive approach
  • Working Hours & Salary 7 hours per day for 18 Saturdays during term time. Working hours will be either 8.00am to 3.30pm or 8.30am to 4.00pm, including a 30-minute unpaid break. £12.73 per hour which equates to an annual salary of £1,840.15 (inclusive of holiday pay).
