Full Job Description

The successful applicant will work alongside the 5-19 service whilst delivering the Youth Smoking and Vaping cessation support across a variety of Education, Community and Health settings.

Our Public Health Nurses work with children and their families both in schools and in the home environment to improve health and social outcomes and make a real difference in a true multi-agency environment. Applicants must be confident in working autonomously as well as part of a team.

The office base for this post is currently undecided however, due to the nature of the role, applicants must be able to travel independently across the County.

You will be an integral member of the 5-19 team, supporting the Band 6 SCPHN alongside another Community Public Health Staff Nurse in the delivery of the Youth Smoking and Vaping Cessation.

Your key role will be to support the delivery of the Youth smoking and vaping cessation service. Providing evidence based advice to young people within a range of settings. You will need to be prepared to have a clear knowledge and understanding around the Patient group directive for Nicotine replacement therapy.

We are a fast paced, innovative, dedicated team that requires skills including a positive attitude, flexibility, and the ability to communicate effectively. You will also need to be motivated, well organised and able to work on your own initiative and be a team player.

You will have a passion for promoting public health and supporting children, young people and their families to adopt healthy lifestyles. With a particular interest around Youth Smoking and Vaping cessation.

Applications are welcome from registered nurses, ideally with post-qualification experience, and an interest in developing their skills in working with children and their families within a community public health and multi-agency environment.

We can offer supportive mentorship arrangements, regular clinical and safeguarding supervision as well as ensuring support with continuing professional development.
