Full Job Description

We wish to recruit an experienced, creative and enthusiastic Band 6 Community Practitioner to join our specialist integrated service within Northumberland County Council Children Services, CNTW Northumberland Children & Young People's Services and Northumberland ICB.

This specialist service is focused on improving the outcomes for Children who are 'Cared For' by Northumberland County Council, Kinship carers, families working with Stronger Together and families supported by NCC Early Help Service.

We are an integrated team working closely with the Local Authority, Social Care, placement providers and families to reduce placement breakdown, maximise and maintain local placements and family arrangements, and improve the experiences of children and young people in these settings.

The successful candidate will have experience of working as a clinician within Child and adolescent mental health services with children who present with complex needs. You will have experience of working with cared for children, including working as part of a multi agency system. You will be willing to learn within a social care setting whilst sharing you clinical expertise to support the wider considerations of how to support individual children and their families/carers. You will be experienced in holding and containing risks whilst trying to support a complex system to be proactive in identifying and meeting needs.

Main duties of the job

Offering clinical consultations using your experience of working in Child and adolescent Mental health services.

Offering advice and guidance of strategies and approaches and signposting to local services (if clinically indicated).

Report writing

Clinical formulation

Supporting the training offer to other professionals and carers.

Facilitating groups (adult and child)

Offering supervision and reflective practice.

Direct work with carers and professionals to support their understanding of the child/young persons needs.
