Full Job Description

The community practitioner responsibilities also include:
+ Physical health monitoring of patients
+ Contribution in professional consultation meetings for local clinicians
+ Assist with delivery of bipolar/mood disorders training
+ Support engagement with young people and their carers
+ Offer advice on medication to young people and their families

The National Specialist Adolescent Mood disorders Service (NSAMS) is looking to recruit a dynamic Mental Health nurse practitioner at band 6. The post holder requires clinical experience in working with young people under the age of 18 years and experience of working with young people with mood disorders and co-occurring conditions is desirable. The post holder will contribute to a highly specialist national tertiary clinical service as part of a multidisciplinary team for referrals to NSAMS for second opinion assessments and advice on management. The community practitioner will also carry a case load with specific case management duties. The successful applicant will receive excellent ongoing support and training to develop their skills for the role of working into a specialist, second opinion service.
The service accepts referrals from across the UK so the ability to travel for appointments is essential. This will include some overnight stays on occasions. Car driver is essential.
