Full Job Description

As a Community Outreach Officer, you'll be at the heart of that mission, delivering practical, compassionate support where it's needed most. Working directly with pet owners through home visits, community events and remote support you will identify pets at risk and provide practical advice on health, welfare and behaviour helping owners access Woodgreen services and other local support. By building trusted relationships with community groups, charities, local authorities and other partners you will deliver outreach projects that respond to local community needs, contributing ideas and helping to pilot new ways of improving pet welfare in communities.

Passionate about improving the lives of pets and confident working with people from all backgrounds you will bring;

- Practical experience of handling and caring for dogs, cats and small animals.
- A good understanding of animal welfare and responsible pet ownership.
- Experience delivering community-based, outreach or customer-facing services.
- Experience building partnerships with external organisations.
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
- The confidence to work independently and make sound decisions in varied and sometimes challenging situations.

to this role along with strong problem-solving skills and the ability to balance empathy with practical action. Due to the nature of this position a full UK driving licence and confidence driving, or willingness to learn to drive, a 3.5 tonne vehicle is essential.

The starting salary for this position is £29,739 - £33,043 per annum depending on experience. This is complemented by;
- 36 days annual leave per year (inclusive of bank holidays) rising by 1 day each year to a maximum of 40 days after five years
