Full Job Description

This band 6 Occupational Therapy post offers experienced Occupational Therapists the opportunity of gaining advanced clinical skills & knowledge in the community. The post holder will provide high quality occupational therapy assessments and interventions to a wide variety of patients in liaison with the multidisciplinary team and community partners.

RRRT is a seven-day integrated health and social care service for adults, primarily older people, working in partnership with HRCH and the London Borough of Richmond upon Thames Council.The service is open 7 days per week from 8am - 8pm (37.5 hours per week). The post holder will be included on the weekend working rota which will include Bank Holidays., 1. To be professionally and legally accountable for all aspects of own clinical and professional work, including the management of patients in your care.

2. To undertake comprehensive occupational therapy assessments with clients who have a range of health and social care needs. To develop skills in assessing and interpreting a range of complex factors relating to the client's condition including diagnosis and prognosis.

3. To be able to analyse and interpret assessment results based on a proficient knowledge of evidence-based practice, and using clinical reasoning skills to formulate and deliver an occupational-focussed treatment programme to enable optimal outcomes for clients.

4. To plan and implement interventions in collaboration with clients using graded activity to achieve their therapeutic goals.

5. Assess client understanding of treatment and gain their informed consent whilst being able to work within a legal framework with clients who have been assessed to lack mental capacity to consent to intervention.

6. Monitor and evaluate client progress, re-assess and alter treatment programmes as appropriate in line with the client's own occupational goals.

7. To demonstrate proficient skills in monitoring the effectiveness of intervention through goal setting, outcome measurements and evaluation of practice., The main aim of Occupational Therapy is to optimise a person's functional participation in their chosen activities of daily living by providing client-focused assessment and intervention. We also aim to contribute to safe discharges and the flow of inpatient services within a supportive learning environment.
