Full Job Description

As a Community Wound Care Nurse, you will:

  • Deliver complex wound care management including leg ulcer treatment and wound assessment.
  • Perform and interpret Doppler assessments to support effective treatment planning.
  • Provide wound care in clinic settings, patients' homes and care environments across the county.
  • Educate and empower patients, families and carers to promote self-care and better outcomes.
  • Maintain accurate, confidential clinical records in line with NMC and Trust standards.
  • Work collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams to ensure safe, effective patient care.
  • Participate in audits, service improvement and ongoing professional development.
  • This role requires independent travel across Northamptonshire and the ability to carry equipment and undertake wound care in both clinic and home settings.

    Are you a compassionate and motivated Registered Nurse looking to develop your skills in a specialist community service? We are seeking a Band 5 Community Wound Care Nurse to join our dedicated Community Wound Service, supporting patients with complex and hard-to-heal wounds across Northamptonshire., You will be a caring, confident and enthusiastic practitioner with:
  • Current NMC registration (Adult Nurse).
  • Experience within community nursing and managing hard-to-heal wounds.
  • Skills in leg ulcer management and Doppler assessment.
  • Understanding of tissue viability principles and wound care best practice.
  • Excellent communication, organisational and time-management skills.
  • Ability to work autonomously and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • A full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle.
