Full Job Description

You will be required to work in collaboration with colleagues from the wider neighborhood team to deliver high standards of nursing care. Creating a culture of continuous quality improvement through the critical appraisal of practice and clinical audit.

This is a time of change within West Suffolk, during which we are transforming our services to provide treatment and care for patients outside the acute Trust and closer to where our patients live.

In return you will receive support in your new role and will be encouraged in further development. You will gain experience in directly leading, managing, and developing staff. We offer a supportive and exciting work environment, and we are committed to the training and development of our staff.

You will be using a wide range of nursing skills and will need to be confident in your assessment skills and in your ability to provide safe, effective treatments whilst working in a community setting. Experience in palliative care, wound management and catheter management will be an advantage. You will have the chance to be fully involved in working with the MDT and integrating with Adult Social Care, hospice and hospital staff and will need to be committed to ongoing learning and development in the team. This will be the perfect opportunity if you would like a role where you can use a broad range of nursing skills.

Applicant must be able to travel independently to meet the needs of the service.

#BeKnown at West Suffolk NHS Foundation Trust. By us. By our patients. By our community

We are a busy, friendly, rural NHS Trust providing high-quality care and compassion to more than a quarter of a million people across west Suffolk. We care for, treat and support people in hospital, at home and in various community settings.

The West Suffolk Hospital in Bury St Edmunds provides acute and secondary care services (emergency department, maternity and neonatal services, day surgery unit, eye treatment centre, Macmillan unit and children's ward). It has 500+ beds and is a partner teaching hospital of the University of Cambridge.

Adult and paediatric community services, provided in collaboration with West Suffolk Alliance partners, include a range of nursing, therapy, specialist, and ongoing temporary care and rehabilitation, some at our Newmarket Community Hospital.

We do our utmost to achieve outstanding clinical outcomes for patients and our values of fairness, inclusivity, respect, safety and team work guide how we work and behave as a team.

With nearly 5,000 staff, from all over the world, we strive to make our organisation a great place to work. Whatever your role or ambition, we want to help you be the best you can be.

We promote a diverse and inclusive community where everyones voice counts and you can #BeKnown for whoever you are.

Opportunities are available on a fixed term and substantive basis with both full and part time working patterns.

There is a 0.80 WTE permanent position and a 1.00 WTE and 0.80 WTE fixed term positions available.
