Full Job Description

You will work closely with residents and community groups to promote crime-related community resilience work, including supporting community and neighbourhood watch groups in the East Riding. You must be able to use your own initiative in planning and delivering support to new and existing groups. You will be required to deliver presentations to new and existing groups. You must be enthusiastic and have excellent communication, co-ordination, organisational and networking skills. You will also be required to promote community payback projects throughout the East Riding, manage the review of Public Spaces Protection Orders and respond to new requests for additional alcohol and public safety Orders. You will also administer the Council's Safe and Sound grant scheme and Graffiti Removal Policy., A motivated, enthusiastic and community focused member of staff is needed to work within the Anti-Social Behaviour team. The Community Crime Reduction and Resilience Officer role plays a vital part in preventing crime, reducing anti social behaviour and empowering our communities to feel safe and supported. A motivated, enthusiastic and community focused member of staff is needed to work within the Anti-Social Behaviour team. The Community Crime Reduction and Resilience Officer role plays a vital part in preventing crime, reducing anti social behaviour and empowering our communities to feel safe and supported., You will have a knowledge of the role of different public sector services and will represent the Council at different local, regional and any relevant national forums in relation to neighbourhood watch. You will have at least 5 A

  • to C GCSE's or equivalent and, or be willing to work towards, a professional anti-social behaviour or crime and disorder related qualification.
  • You will be able to manage your own workload and be able to work as part of a small, dedicated team, using your own initiative. The ability to work with minimal supervision and guidance is vital. Your work will entail some early evening work as these are the times when groups often meet. You will be expected to drive to meetings throughout the East Riding, therefore you must have access to a vehicle or have other methods of travelling to meetings. You may be asked to work anywhere in the East Riding, although your work will mainly be in the West of the East Riding.
