Full Job Description
Health for All is seeking a Community Centres Development Manager to support communities across Leeds and further afield to develop, secure and sustain their local vibrant community centre. This is a hands-on, community-focused role working alongside both established centres and emerging groups to build capacity, resilience and long-term sustainability.
You will play a key role in equipping local communities with the skills, confidence and capacity to ensure community centres are well-governed, financially sustainable, and responsive to the needs of local people.
The postholder will work directly with community organisations to strengthen governance, leadership and organisational capacity, supporting the development of sustainable income models, including funding applications and business planning. You will be able to build strong, trusted relationships with community groups, partners and stakeholders and support communities to develop and manage local buildings and assets.
You will represent Health for All in local partnerships and networks and coordinate and contribute to a Community Centres Network across Leeds, sharing learning, tools and good practice, helping community centres to respond effectively to local needs, challenges and opportunities.
We are looking for someone who has experience of working with community groups, voluntary organisations or similar with the ability to build strong relationships and engage diverse communities; experience of running, managing, developing local community facilities; a good understanding of community development, governance and funding and the ability to manage a varied workload in a practical and organised way with a commitment to community-led change and creating positive social impact. You will be an empathetic and approachable individual who can build trust, listen to community needs, and work collaboratively to achieve shared goals.
