Community Alarms Officer

As a Community Alarms Officer, you will undertake assessments, install and demonstrate a range of alarm and telecare equipment, and help ensure customers receive the right support at the right time. You will also operate control centre equipment on a 24-hour basis, answering incoming calls in line with Telecare Service Association Code of Practice, policies, procedures and service standards.,

• Identify the type of emergency, assess customer needs and take appropriate action across a wide range of issues including medical, social, housing, telecare and care-related calls.
• Provide a courteous, calm and professional service when supporting customers, colleagues, councillors, contractors and partner agencies.
• Receive and respond to calls from individuals and establishments monitored for lone worker, telecare, telehealth, fire, burglary and temperature control alerts.
• Plan diary activity to ensure assessments and scheduled work are completed effectively.
• Provide an out-of-hours answering and filtering service for repairs and other council services, prioritising calls and liaising with trades operatives, contractors and standby supervisors where required.
• Undertake safety checks on council vehicles used as part of the role.
• Provide emergency first aid, lifting and handling support where required.
  
  You will have a good working knowledge of community alarm services, including the assessment and installation of telecare equipment. You must also hold a full driving licence and be able to drive council fleet vehicles, including both manual and automatic vehicles.
