Are you passionate about libraries, reading and connecting communities with information and learning opportunities? We are looking for an experienced and motivated Librarian to join our Community Access Libraries team as Stock & Systems Coordinator. This is a pivotal role within Living Well Rutland, with a strong focus on leading the development and management of library stock, overseeing bibliographic services and ensuring the effective operation of the library management system across Rutland's four libraries and outreach offer. Working closely with the Community Access Library Team Leader, you will also support reader development initiatives and analyse data to help shape responsive and engaging library services for Rutland's communities., As the Community Access Library Stock & Systems Coordinator, you will play a central leadership role in overseeing library systems and coordinating stock management across Rutland's libraries and outreach offer. Your duties will include:

  • Leading the development and use of the council's library management system and other specialist systems
  • Managing and developing library stock, including coordinating acquisition, bibliographic services and stock promotion to meet community needs
  • Working closely with the Community Access Library Team Leader and BI Team to analyse data, monitor performance and support informed service planning and delivery
  • Supporting and promoting reader development initiatives, working with colleagues to increase engagement with reading and learning across library sites
  • Please note: This role is predominantly based at Oakham Library but will require working flexibly across all four library sites to support service delivery and development. A full UK driving licence is required to enable travel across the library sites. Occasional weekend work may also be required. The Community Access Library Stock & Systems Coordinator interviews will be held on 15 May 2026. Please be advised this could be subject to change, in which case we will give appropriate notice.     To succeed in this role, you will need:
  • A qualification in Librarianship, Information Services Management or equivalent relevant experience
  • Experience of managing library stock, including acquisition, bibliographic services and promotion
  • Experience of using data to produce reports, analyse trends and support service improvement
  • Experience of reviewing and improving systems and ways of working
  • Strong organisational skills, with the ability to manage priorities across multiple sites
  • Excellent communication and collaborative working skills
  • A proactive approach, with a commitment to delivering inclusive, high-quality library services
