We’re looking for someone with energy and enthusiasm with strong writing, editing and digital skills and with demonstrable experience who is always ready to try something new.

You'll work as part of our small dedicated editorial team within a wider communications department which includes in-house designers and campaigners.

You'll be a content specialist who's able to work at all levels of the union to develop strong, eye-catching and user-friendly content both in print and online - sometimes from unpromising beginnings!

You'll be able to interview a wide range of people and be able to tell their story with engaging, attention-grabbing copy but you'll also be able to turn organisational information and reports into engaging data-led content.

Most important - you'll know what a good story looks like and how to tell it in the best way possible, whilst making the world a better place on the side. If that's you, we'd love to hear from you.

Please note we currently operate an Interim Hybrid Working Policy, the successful candidate will be expected to work in the UNISON Centre for 50% of the contracted hours.

How to apply

To apply for this opportunity, please download and complete the UNISON General application form referring to the job description and person specification (both under "Documents").

Please note that only the relevant UNISON application form will be accepted.

CVs will not be accepted.

Please email your UNISON general application form along with both the Recruitment Monitoring Form and the Disability Monitoring Form to quoting reference: CCP/51 on your application form.

Please save your documents starting with your full name in the document name.

Closing date for applications is 5:00pm on 18th May 2026

The interviews will be held on 2 June 2026 at UNISON Centre, 130 Euston Road, London, NW1 2AY.
