About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity to join Edge Hill University as a Communications Officer and help raise the profile of a modern, ambitious university that is transforming lives through education, research and innovation.

In this varied and fast-paced role, you'll create and promote stories that showcase the University's achievements, expertise and impact. From developing media campaigns and writing news releases to creating digital content, managing social media opportunities and responding to media enquiries, you'll play a key role in shaping how Edge Hill is seen by external audiences.

Working as part of a high-performing Communications and Engagement team, you'll collaborate with academics, senior leaders, partners and stakeholders across the University to uncover inspiring stories and position Edge Hill at the heart of important conversations. As communications officer, you will enjoy a varied role with opportunities to work across media relations, content creation, reputation management, events and thought leadership.

About You

As a communications officer you will be an experienced communications professional with excellent writing skills and a passion for telling stories that engage and inspire.

You'll bring experience of working in a busy communications environment, alongside strong relationship-building skills and the confidence to work with colleagues, stakeholders and media contacts at all levels.

In this role, you will be responsible for creating digital content and translating complex research into accessible messages, you'll know how to tailor your approach for different audiences and channels.

As communications officer you will be able to manage competing priorities and comfortable working to tight deadlines without compromising quality.

Most importantly, you'll be proactive, creative and curious, always looking for opportunities to generate positive coverage, increase engagement and enhance reputation.
