What You Will Do:
Provide tailored, direct communication support for individuals with speech, language, hearing, or broader communication challenges.
Use specialist communication methods such as BSL, SSE, Makaton, or lip-speaking to remove barriers.
Interpret spoken information accurately and impartially.
Relay individual responses clearly and faithfully to support expressive communication.
Support access to education sessions, meetings, appointments, and activities.
Work collaboratively with teachers, lecturers, clinicians, and other professionals.
Adapt communication approaches to suit individual and situational needs.
Assist with developing accessible materials where required.
Encourage self-advocacy and promote independence.
Provide appropriate emotional support linked to communication barriers.
Maintain professional boundaries and strict confidentiality.
Keep accurate records and contribute to reports when needed.
Attend training, supervision, and relevant meetings.
Follow safeguarding, health and safety, equality, and professional conduct standards.
