Full Job Description

We are currently seeking an enthusiastic and proactive Commissioning Officer to join our Adult & Public Health Commissioning Service. You will join an established team of Commissioning Officers, who are responsible for the quality monitoring of all people-based services across Adult Social Care. You will be working closely with Commissioning Managers and operational teams across these service areas. You will be responsible for:

  • Supporting local and regional collaborative commissioning activity - developing quality frameworks and toolkits, gathering intelligence, engagement with providers, service users and other stakeholders, and developing specifications;
  • Ensuring compliance with statutory requirements;
  • Ensuring efficient use of resources and value for money;
  • Attending and supporting placement and resource panels;
  • Sourcing specialist social care placements;
  • Dealing with placement related issues and queries from providers, settings and services - regarding safeguarding notifications, contract compliance, service delivery and funding;
  • undertaking monitoring of social care provision within North Tyneside, the wider region and, where required, outside of the North East.
  • We are seeking candidates with knowledge of Adult Social Care, with experience of working in either a commissioning environment or a related area. You will be able to develop strong relationships with colleagues from across the Authority's people-based services and corporate teams. You will be working with other Local Authorities, with our schools, providers, community and voluntary sector partners and other stakeholders. You will support joint commissioning activity with colleagues from the North East & North Cumbria Integrated Care Board (ICB).
