Full Job Description
The Commercial Administrator supports the commercial team in managing financial and contractual aspects of social housing projects. This role is essential in ensuring accurate record-keeping, timely processing of documentation, and smooth coordination between internal teams, subcontractors, and clients. The position contributes to maintaining cost control, compliance, and efficient project delivery across planned and reactive maintenance works.,
- Provide administrative support to the Commercial Manager and Quantity Surveyors
- Assist with the preparation, submission, and tracking of applications for payment and invoices
- Maintain accurate financial records, including cost reports, purchase orders, and subcontractor accounts
- Process subcontractor documentation, including onboarding, payments, and compliance checks
- Monitor and log variations, change orders, and contract amendments
- Support procurement activities, including raising orders and liaising with suppliers
- Ensure all documentation is compliant with company procedures and client requirements
- Maintain project files, ensuring records are up to date and easily accessible
- Assist with reporting, including financial summaries and performance data
- Coordinate communication between site teams, commercial staff, and external stakeholders
- Support audits and provide documentation as required
Previous experience in an administrative or commercial support role, ideally within construction or social housing - Understanding of basic commercial principles (cost control, invoicing, contracts)
- Strong organisational skills with excellent attention to detail
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Good communication and interpersonal skills, GCSEs (or equivalent) including Maths and English
- Relevant administrative or business qualification (desirable but not essential)
