Expanded Structures, the specialist reinforced concrete basement, substructure and superstructure frame construction division of Laing O'Rourke, is recruiting a Senior Commercial Manager to join the team in Suffolk. Be part of this 'once in a generation' project, which will deliver clean energy to 6 million homes for the next 60 years. Sizewell C will see the creation of a 3.2-gigawatt nuclear power station on the Suffolk coast, providing reliable low-carbon electricity. What will the role look like?

  • Oversee commercial activities across your project section from pre-construction through to completion.
  • Take responsibility for financial, contractual and commercial performance, including cost, forecasting, risk and opportunity.
  • Manage and oversee major subcontract packages, including procurement, administration, change, accounts and claims.
  • Lead change control and ensure commercial risks and opportunities are identified, managed and mitigated.
  • Provide commercial and contractual advice to project teams, clients and supply chain partners.
  • Maintain robust commercial governance, reporting and contract compliance.
  • Identify and escalate issues that may impact project or business performance.
  • Support continuous improvement and consistent commercial best practice.
  • Provide guidance and support to the wider Commercial team.

Are you a Senior Commercial Manager with strong experience in direct project delivery?
  • Do you have experience across civil engineering, infrastructure, nuclear or power projects? Looking for an opportunity to contribute to one of the UK's most significant infrastructure programmes?,
  • Degree (or higher) qualified in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering or Commercial Management; RICS membership desirable but not essential.
  • Strong working knowledge and practical application of NEC contracts.
  • Significant commercial management background within direct delivery environments, ideally across major civil engineering, infrastructure, nuclear or power projects.
  • Proven ability to manage projects through the full lifecycle, including subcontract packages, change, risk and commercial performance.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills, with the ability to work collaboratively across project teams, clients and supply chain partners.
