Commercial Manager

Sizewell C will see the creation of a 3.2-Gigawatt nuclear power station on the Suffolk coast to provide reliable load low-carbon electricity. The Civil Works Alliance is an extended delivery enterprise involving Sizewell C and three international construction companies: Balfour Beatty, Bouygues Travaux Publics and Laing O'Rourke. What will the Senior Commercial Manager role look like?

• Commercial responsibility for multiple structures across the project.
• Advise and manage commercial risks within the project.
• Providing a team of surveyors with support and guidance on their job responsibilities.
• Form an integral part of the multidisciplinary sub-teams responsible for project delivery and client service.
• Support the interim applications for payment and agreements.
• Management, administration and settlement of subcontractors' accounts, including accountability for those delegated to your team.
• Preparation and management of any claims.
• The flexible management of staff to provide an effective commercial service for the business.
• Negotiating with client's representatives, sub-contractors and other consultants to achieve project results whilst maintaining group relationships.
• Input into contractual implications of intended courses of action.
• Input and support the preparation of monthly contract review reports, communicate key risk, opportunity and change with transparency, in a timely manner.
• Support preparation and issue of weekly Business Plan Review (BPR) information.
• Identify change and implement the change control process and agreement in a timely manner
• Ensure that contract documents are properly executed prior to project commencement.
• Adopt appropriate measures for management of risk.
• Keep your manager fully advised of any issue/risk which has arisen or might arise and which could affect the business/project.

• Experience within infrastructure and/or power sectors.
• Geotechnical / piling experience desirable.
• Degree qualified in relevant discipline (Quantity Surveying / Commercial Management)
• Member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors desirable but not essential.
