Full Job Description

We are seeking a Commercial Manager to play a pivotal role in the successful commercial management of a large, complex Government Facilities Management (FM) contract within the public sector. The role is responsible for protecting and enhancing commercial value across the full contract lifecycle, ensuring contractual compliance, robust governance, sustainable margin delivery and strong client relationships., We are looking for an experienced commercial professional who can provide expert leadership, insight and challenge, working closely with operational, finance and wider commercial teams. The Commercial Manager will translate commercial strategies into practical operational outcomes, proactively manage risks, opportunities, variations and disputes, and contribute to contract performance, operational readiness and continuous improvement.,
- Provide strategic commercial leadership to support margin enhancement, cost control and long-term contract sustainability.
- Act as the primary commercial interface with the client on contractual matters, variations, negotiations and dispute resolution.
- Lead end-to-end contract lifecycle management, ensuring compliance with contractual obligations, governance requirements and internal policies.
- Translate commercial strategies into effective operational delivery in partnership with operational teams.
- Identify, evaluate and mitigate commercial risks while maximising opportunities.
- Manage Work in Progress (WIP), ensuring accurate valuation, reporting and cash conversion via CAFM systems.
- Lead contract variations including identification, pricing, submission, agreement and recovery.
- Support financial forecasting and performance reporting through close collaboration with Finance Business Partners.
Proven Commercial Manager experience within the Facilities Management sector (hard and soft services), across public and private sectors. - Strong understanding of revenue, cost and margin, with well-developed analytical and financial modelling skills.
- Experience of commercial pricing models and performance mechanisms.
- Demonstrable negotiation experience with the ability to construct and present robust commercial arguments.
- Strong risk and opportunity identification and analysis capability.
- Familiar with different forms of contract and able to advise on contractual content and interpretation.
- Confident presenting detailed and complex information clearly to senior stakeholders.
- Professional, conscientious, proactive and innovative, with excellent stakeholder management skills.
